#5 Nike - What the Football (2023)

Combining many of Nike’s incredibly varied creatives around the Women’s World Cup, Wieden + Kennedy’s crazy “What The Football” concept pulls the work from 11 different local territory ads. Centred around a US fan who goes into a coma after slipping on a banana skin celebrating Brandi Chastain’s 1999 final winning penalty. Only to wake 24 years later and be brought up to speed on the stars of today’s women’s game by his now adult daughter. Her summary with such dynamic visuals from the wider campaign (the only way Nike know how) educate and entice the viewer, leaving plenty to latch onto ahead of this year’s tournament.
